Awesome GW Char Progress Tracker June 5, 2007

Filed under: Guides, News, PvE — Robin @ 10:31 am

Ok, this is just the bee’s knees. You know how people say on achat “Does anybody need <mission> bonus?” and people don’t know, have to switch chars to check or whatever?

I got frustrated by that last night (about myself, I couldn’t remember where all my chars were in Nightfall) and did a google search to see if anybody had done something cool to address the problem. And somebody had.

Check out Rohars Roughnecks’ Character Progress Tracker.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

This tool is really easy to use and fits what I was looking for exactly. You create a tracker for each of your chars, and then you fill out that character’s accomplishments. Then, you can view the “My Missions” page to find out at a glance which character needs to complete a mission or bonus.

The tool tracks all three campaigns in both Normal & Hard Mode, as well as tracking Vanquisher for the explorables in all three campaigns. You can view the Missions page in both text mode and a cool looking Shield Mode (which shows the swords like the maps in the game) and you can even save the results as an XML spreadsheet. Conveniently (and cleverly) the mission names on the list are links to the Wiki page about the mission, so you can get that last minute Master’s strategy once you’ve figured out which character you’re bringing to the mission.

For the statistics geeks amongst you (raises hand) there’s a Tracker Stats page that shows what percentage of the characters being tracked by the tool (in total for the site) have completed each goal.

It’s easy to set up and update, and solves a complex problem very neatly. Enjoy!

Randalf’s Masters Guide to Moria March 4, 2007

Filed under: Guides — Sami @ 11:21 pm

Randalf is an expert at completing this mission, so I asked him to make up this guide for us :) .

To do this mission as masters there are no doubt, many ways. This method is how I succeeded:
Note:: With this method it *IS* possible to just kill Varesh, and Varesh only!

First off, at the start of the mission, make all players and heros wait back up by the start.
It doesnt matter who lures Varesh, as she has a larger aggro bubble, but have a player walk
down the ramp and stay outside the aggro range of the clerics, Varesh will come. Let Varesh chase
that player up the ramp until you can engage her without engaging the clerics as well.

Lightbringer Farming January 10, 2007

Guide written by Val

Outpost: Gate of Secrets
Area: Domain of Secrets

Map labelled points:
Get blessing from priest right outside gate
1. 2 groups here(1 patrol will arrive), kill both
2. 2 groups here(1 patrol will arrive) kill both
3. wave ‘hi’, leave them alone
4. 1 group here, kill them

You can continue onward up the stairs past point 4 to kill 2 more margonite groups there, watch aggro, their patrol paths overlap. This comes down to 64 points at clearing point 4 at 5 mins; 12 lb points/min. I took a melee dominated group given the environmental effect of skills
costing 40% more.

Sunspear General November 19, 2006

Filed under: Guides — Kitsune @ 2:03 pm

Here is a guide written by Val on getting sunspear general asap:

* * *

This is how to get to sunspear general rank in DR* and save time on some
required quests.
1. acquire sunspear sanctuary
2. Get Koss back from Nerashi in Arjok ward and do not zone, map nearby
Pogahn Passage se of your location.
3. complete ‘Prisoners of war’ from Drunk Oreo in command center, once
done do not zone, go ne and zone venta cemetery since you’re right there.
4. get quest ‘Koss Elixir’ from Koss in command center and ‘Drake in a
cage’ from Chuno in Marga Coast; leave from Yohlon Haven and complete ‘Koss
elixir’ quest.
5. leave from command center for ‘Drake in a cage’; acquire as many
hunks of fresh meat per total charrhides you have remaining to be ferried to DR,
it will save you time. Complete quest.
6. get quests “the interrogation’ from Drunk Oreo in command center,
‘Melonni’s mediations’ from elder Jonah in marga coast, ‘Feeding
frenzy’ from chuno in marga coast, and ‘herds to the slaughter’ from herdsman
Zakanu in marga coast.
7. complete in this order together at the same time, ‘Melonni’s
mediations’, ‘feeding frenzy’, the interrogation’, then finally ‘herds to the
slaughter’, once done, do not zone, map nearby Nundu Bay instead.
8. complete ‘The meeting’ from Drunk Oreo in command center.
9. leave yohlon haven, get insect killer blessing, kill about 5-6
groups of veldts. Repeat 10 times, and congrats on general promotion.

* DR = NF = Nightfall

* * *

I usually eat insects outside Haven (eastern exit). Beat insect groups near the exit, rinse and repeat. You can get 100 points per about three minutes. Don’t forget to bring Olias MM :)
