Girl Power Hour – Girls Pwning Thunderhead Keep March 29, 2007

Filed under: Announcements, Girl Power Hour, PvE — Robin @ 7:58 am

Attention girl gamers! You’re invited!

This Sunday, our vengeful valkyries will shatter the cold, jade hearts of the Mursaat, blacken the White Mantle, turn the tide of the dwarven civil war, and avenge Prince Rurik as we retake Thunderhead Keep.

It doesn’t matter how you get your character to Thunderhead Keep, either via the mission path or getting run there. What does matter is that your armor be infused, or the Mursaat’s Spectral Agony will eat you alive. Please make sure you’ve taken care of this ahead of the event – and remember armor infusion is per piece of armor, not per character, so if you’ve gotten pretty new armor from another campaign for your old Prophecies character, it has to be infused if you’re going to be taking on Mursaat. The fastest way to get this done is to get an infuse run at Iron Mines.

We will be doing the bonus, it’s much more fun that way. The mopping up after retaking the keep is a good opportunity for cartographers to explore, as well. Bring whichever character you want, we’ll form teams from what’s available, any profession is welcome. We’ll try to make sure that teams go in with enough healing and damage.

We’ll gather this Sunday, April 1st, in our usual meeting place, The Temple of the Ages, International District 1 (by the statue of Dwayna) and at our regular meeting time, 1:00 PM Eastern Time (10:00 AM Pacific, 5:00 PM GMT, 6:00PM BST). We’ll form teams there, then map travel to THK.

Female players only, please. (Females playing male characters are welcome.) Of course there’s no way for us to check, but please respect the women who wish to gather for this event to play with other female gamers.

Girl Power Hour – Girls Pwning FoW March 22, 2007

Filed under: Announcements, Girl Power Hour, PvE — Robin @ 12:07 am

Attention girl gamers! You’re invited!

This Sunday, our amazon army will cast light against the shadows and smite the undead as we take up Balthazar’s pennant and march into the dread Fissure of Woe.

Normally, our international gathering of girl gamers would be precluded from choosing this destination for our weekly expedition, but thanks to the FoW and UW Open Access weekend event, our multi-region teams will be able to work together in the noble cause of defeating Menzies (not to mention gathering loot like Chaos Axes, Shadow Blades, and Obsidian Shards).

To participate, your character needs to be ascended. For Tyrian born characters, that means having completed the three missions and final challenge in the Crystal Desert. Canthan born characters will need to be Weh no Su. Elonian born characters need to have completed the quest Hunted! Tyrians can achieve ascension by becoming Weh no Su in Cantha, and Canthans can do the same by completing the ascension trials in the Crystal Desert, and Elonians may ascend by either path as well. Only Elonians can achieve the benefits of ascension via the Hunted! quest.

Bring whichever character you have that is qualified to enter the Realms of the Gods, we’ll form teams from what’s available, any profession is welcome. We’ll try to make sure that teams go in with enough healing and damage.

We’ll gather this Sunday, March 25th, in our usual meeting place, The Temple of the Ages, International District 1 (by the statue of Dwayna) and at our regular meeting time, 1:00 PM Eastern Time (10:00 AM Pacific, 5:00 PM GMT). Conveniently, ToA is the entry point for the Realms of the Gods in Tyria, so we’ll enter FoW from there.

Female players only, please. (Females playing male characters are welcome.) Of course there’s no way for us to check, but please respect the women who wish to gather for this event to play with other female gamers.

Girl Power Hour – Girls Pwning Sorrow’s Furnace March 14, 2007

Filed under: Announcements, Girl Power Hour, PvE — Robin @ 11:06 am

Attention girl gamers – you’re invited!

This Sunday, we Valkyries shall strike fear into the cold hearts of the Stone Summit dwarves as we descend on Sorrow’s Furnace.

If you haven’t mapped the staging outpost for Sorrow’s Furnace, Deldrimor War Camp, it’s an easily henchable walk from Droknar’s Forge through Talus Chute to Camp Rankor, north through Snake Dance, turning east at the sign to Grenth’s Footprint, where signs will point the way north and east a short distance to DWC. (You can also hench from Granite Citadel through Spearhead Peak to Grenth’s Footprint, but while the distance is shorter you’ll face some pretty concentrated mobs that way.)

Canthan and Elonian women who haven’t yet mapped Droknar’s Forge in Tyria will find the shortest path is get a run from Lion’s Arch to Beacon’s Perch, and then get a run to the Forge from there (about 3K per person on average, lately largely Dervish runners.) Runs to DWC are regularly available from Camp Rankor, as well.

Bring whatever character you have that can get there. We won’t be trying to force together any sort of farming team builds. We’ll try to make sure all the teams leave with enough healing and damage along for the ride, but it’s all about the fun and we can make any combination of characters work.

We will meet this Sunday, March 18th, in our regular meeting place, the Temple of the Ages, International District 1, at our regular meeting time, 1:00 PM Eastern Time (10:00 AM Pacific, 5:00 PM GMT).

Female players only, please. (Females playing male characters are welcome.) Of course there’s no way for us to check, but please respect the women who wish to gather for this event to play with other female gamers.

Attention girl gamers – you’re invited!

Building on the success of our previous Girl Power Hour events, our amazon army will march forth this Sunday on the Heroes’ Ascent.

Come explore the world of PvP with us! To unlock this outpost, map to the Great Temple of Balthazar from the boat and talk to the Canthan Ferry Captain on the Isle of the Nameless who will map you to the Random Arenas. Randalf’s Masters Guide to Moria March 4, 2007

Filed under: Guides — Sami @ 11:21 pm

Randalf is an expert at completing this mission, so I asked him to make up this guide for us :) .

To do this mission as masters there are no doubt, many ways. This method is how I succeeded:
Note:: With this method it *IS* possible to just kill Varesh, and Varesh only!

First off, at the start of the mission, make all players and heros wait back up by the start.
It doesnt matter who lures Varesh, as she has a larger aggro bubble, but have a player walk
down the ramp and stay outside the aggro range of the clerics, Varesh will come. Let Varesh chase
that player up the ramp until you can engage her without engaging the clerics as well.

Ignoring the Clerics
